R. JASON CRANE, was born and raised just south of Tuscaloosa in the small farming community of Fosters, Alabama, where he grew up on a family-owned catfish and cattle farm. He attended the University of Alabama and graduated in 2003 with a BS in Marketing and a Minor in English Literature.  A President’s and Dean’s List scholar, he was also a member of Sigma Tau Delta English Honor Society and Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society. Jason graduated from Thomas Goode Jones School of Law in 2007, where he was a 2007 J. Greg Allen Trial Competition finalist. Jason also served as president of two different on campus organizations and was the faculty-appointed student chair of the academic standards committee.

 

Jason was admitted to the Alabama State Bar in 2007 and the Mississippi State Bar in 2015. He is admitted to the United States District Courts for the Northern, Middle, and Southern Districts of Alabama, as well as the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi. He is a member of the Alabama and Mississippi State Bar Association, the Mobile Bar Association, and he is also a panel member of the South Alabama Volunteer Lawyers Program.

 

Jason joined ABBS in 2021 where his practice is concentrated in the areas of commercial and residential real estate transactions, title insurance, title curative measures, commercial law, probate, landlord-tenant and other real estate related litigation.  In addition, just as before joining the firm, Jason’s practice will also continue to focus on creditor’s rights including mortgage foreclosure, post-foreclosure ejectment and related litigation.

 

Jason and his wife, Gretchen McGinnis Crane, are members of Spring Hill Baptist Church where they are actively involved in the children’s ministry teaching programs for Sunday School, VBS, and Team Kids. Jason and Gretchen have three children, James Burnett, AnnaGrace Dorothea, and Josephine (“Sephie”) McGinnis Crane.
